History
Since 1978, A.E. Sampson & Son Ltd has provided architects, builders and homeowners with a wide variety of wood products and services that make a special difference in new construction and renovation projects. With 30 years of experience as a master cabinet maker, Alan Sampson (pictured left) established the company at the family farm in Lincolnville, Maine. Starting with small projects and selling hardwoods in the local area his reputation grew rapidly.

The shop soon grew into a full service millwork shop that served customers throughout Maine. Paul Sampson joined Alan full time after years working with with his father after school and on weekends. Jula Sampson started in 1986 by helping out in the lumber sheds, changing knifes and driving the truck to deliveries.
Alan retired from the business in 1988 as the business grew to serve New England. Paul and Julia moved the shop to Warren, Maine to expand the flooring mill. Investments in quality machinery and advanced tooling produce flooring of remarkable quality. Flooring is custom milled in a variety of species, grades and widths and is milled by fine craftsman trained in fine woodworking. At the start of 2020 Paul and Jula retired from the company, passing ownership and management to Seth Bournival. Seth is a Warren native and lifelong woodworker. Seth works daily in the mill overseeing the production and building cabinets.

A.E. Sampson & Son remains focused on the principles that Alan started with: a love of wood, quality craftsmanship and customer service. Sampson's is large enough to handle any size project yet small enough that all orders get Seth's personal attention.
