EASTERN WHITE PINE
GRADES
Select
Mostly clear with an occasional knot, fairly small in size. Boards can have colors ranging from pale yellow tan to light red brown. This grade can be considered more formal than the New England knotty. We are located in The Pine Tree State, Maine, home to the best eastern white pine.

New England Original Knotty
In our cold state, growth is slow, resulting in tighter grain patterns. We harvest the best pine. Lots of character and large knots very traditional to the original New England style homes. Sampsons finds Maine pine with the most original character for this grade.

Seth Bournival has forged strong relationships with loggers and mills to get lumber specifically suited to our custom grades. Our grades are unique.
